Mr. Nice
Fall of 2022, so nice to meet you
Did you magnetize to my light so bright
From barrage of practice
Day in and day out
I remember that morning
Stomach full of knots
I persevered through
I guess to see you
The lake was beautiful
I could not see it
Only you
Who were you
Back then, had I known better
I would have known better
It was resolved two weeks later
Are you happy in heaven
You were tall
10 gallon hat
A cowboy
What were you doing there
Why were you stuck
No matter, Mr. Nice
You got what you wanted
After waiting 200 years
I took you home
Without knowing it
After yelling at you
Leave me alone
Up in those mountains
Cleverly you hid
So as not to disturb me
Or was it me that pushed you away
Regardless I still thought of you
Until the day came
We sent you on
Notes:
I wrote this poem a while after my trip and posted it to my website here. Until now, this was the only item I had posted on my website about the Sierra Nevada sourjorn.
Here is the day of Mr. Nice:
